Transition to Independence Program - Mr. Prohaska - Program Teacher

  • My name is Kevin Prohaska.  I received my B.S. in Physically or Health Impaired (P.O.H.I) with a minor in Biology from Eastern Michigan University in 1992.  In 1998, I received my M.A.T. in Emotional (E.I.) and Learning Disabilities (L.D.) from Saginaw Valley State University.  I have been in the education field for 17 years now.  I spent my first 5 years teaching 16-26 year old P.O.H.I. students life, social and vocational skills.  From there, I worked with adjudicated youth at the W.J. Maxey Boys Training school, teaching Math and Social Studies.  My first 8 years at Brighton High School I was a Special Education Emotionally Impaired teacher.  Four the past two years, I have apart of our new Transition to Independence Program (TIP) teaching Personal Dynamics, Foundation Science I & II, and Life Skills to transition certification students in grades 9-12.

I look forward to working closely with you and your student this year!  If you have any questions regarding the classes I teach, feel free to contact me.
