Pottery Studio is a combination of two classes. Those that are in studio for the first time are in Pottery 2. These students will continue building on the skills learned in Pottery 1 as well as experience new challenges and techniques. More focus will be on pottery wheel skills. Projects are based on an artist, art period or culture. Artist statements and evaluations are also part of the assignments.
Those students who are repeating Pottery Studio (which can be taken for credit several times) are in Advanced Pottery. Assignments are designed to give the students more freedom to interpret the objectives individually. Advanced students are also paired with Pottery 2 students to act as a mentor. This relationship can be beneficial to both, because to teach is to learn!
