The Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) is a federal law which guarantees children and youth with disabilities a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE). Special education programs and services are operated and administered in the local school buildings in collaboration with the Livingston Education Service Agency. We provide a continuum of special education programs and services for school-age students with disabilities. If parents have any questions or concerns in relation to whether their Grade K-12 student may need special education support, they should contact their child’s general education teacher, the building principal, or the director of special education.
