Attendance

Students are expected to attend all classes.

If your student will be arriving late or will be absent, please call the 24-Hour Attendance Line: (810) 299-4051 or (810) 299-4046

Each student is allowed 5 absences per trimester.  Students are allowed 3 excused absences per trimester. It is important that documentation from an outside agency substantiating the reason for the absence be submitted within 48 hours of the absence.  

The following interventions will apply to students exceeding the 8 unexcused/excused absences per trimester:

• Parent contact
• Scheduled make up time
• Scheduled work detail
• Home/School contract
• Home based consequences decided upon by parent(s) and administration

Absences do occur for reasons such as illness, professional appointments and unexpected emergencies. It is the student’s responsibility to contact the teacher for the work that was not completed due to the absence. If the work is not made up, the result will be a failing grade for missed work. All work must be made up within the instructor’s time limit.

Tardy Policy

Students are expected to arrive to school on time for 1st hour and for each class period. A student who does not arrive on time is considered tardy. Please be aware that if your child arrives to school or any class late, s/he will serve a lunch detention.

Lunch Policy

Parents can sign their child out to take them out to lunch between 11:26 and 11:56, or parents can bring their student a lunch between 11:26 and 11:56.  Students are not allowed to order lunch and have it delivered, or leave the building for lunch unless accompanied by a parent/guardian. Parents are not to call students out for lunch.

Student Sign Out

A student may sign him/herself out as long as his/her parent or guardian has called the office to give the student permission to leave. This is only if the student is driving him/herself. OTHERWISE, a student must be signed out and picked up by either the parent/guardian or an emergency contact.
